Katie Sabel, LMSW
Therapist in St. Louis, MO
Clinical Specialties:

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a provisionally licensed therapist at Marble Wellness.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and went on to earn my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Denver. I hold provisional LMSW licensure in Missouri and APSW licensure in Wisconsin.
My professional journey began at a residential treatment center for youth in crisis, where I helped teens process trauma and build resilience. I have also worked in intensive case management with children and teens ages 7 to 21, supporting families in their homes and communities, and completed social work internships in school settings.
Most recently, I have spent years in private practice, continuing to expand my experience with children, teens, young adults, and adults. Through each of these roles, I have seen how trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges affect the whole family, and I bring that understanding into my work every day.
How I Like to Work with Children, Teens, and Adults in Therapy
I love working with children, teens, young adults, and adults of all ages, especially those navigating complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. I’m especially drawn to working with people who may be carrying painful experiences from the past and are ready for a space where they can begin to heal, build coping skills, and feel more like themselves again.
With children and teens, I use a creative and developmentally appropriate approach that may include play therapy, art, sensory activities, games, and outdoor sessions to help them communicate, regulate emotions, and build confidence. With adults, I provide a supportive and collaborative space to work through trauma and life stressors with evidence-based techniques. I use CBT, DBT, SFBT, family collaboration, and EMDR to meet each client where they are and help them move forward in ways that feel meaningful and manageable.
What I Enjoy Most About Trauma and PTSD Therapy
What I enjoy most about trauma and PTSD therapy is witnessing the healing that becomes possible when someone finally feels safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood. It is an honor to walk alongside children, teens, families, and adults as they begin to process difficult experiences and discover new ways of coping and connecting.
I believe every person deserves a space where they can show up authentically and be celebrated for who they are. Watching clients grow in self-awareness, confidence, and emotional strength is one of the most meaningful parts of this work, and it is a privilege to be part of that process.

Fun Fact
When I’m not in session, you’ll find me hiking local St. Louis trails, baking, or playing games with my family and friends. I’m an avid coffee fan—always trying out new creative blends at home! I love to travel and hope to see an elephant in the wild someday.
