Abbey Ramsey
Therapist in St. Louis, MO
Clinical Specialties:

Hi, I’m Abbey! I’m a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor at Marble Wellness.
My Education and Professional Background
My educational background includes studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where I studied psychology and criminology/criminal justice. I then attended Webster University and obtained a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My years at a child development center deepened my understanding of child development and family dynamics, teaching me how to support both children and their caregivers in fostering secure, healthy relationships. Additionally, my year at ALIVE provided invaluable experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, strengthening my skills in trauma-informed care, safety planning, and helping clients navigate the complexities of relationships impacted by abuse. These experiences have shaped my approach to therapy, allowing me to work with individuals and couples through a lens of empathy, resilience, and relational healing.
How I Like to Work in Therapy
I work with couples and individuals who want to better understand and navigate the challenges in their relationships while also clarifying their personal and relational goals. I am passionate about helping people build stronger, more fulfilling connections by exploring patterns, improving communication, and deepening emotional intimacy.
For couples, I draw from Gottman Method Couples Therapy, using research-backed strategies to help couples strengthen their bond, manage conflict effectively, and foster trust and appreciation. Additionally, I incorporate attachment theory to explore how past experiences shape relationship dynamics, helping individuals and couples develop greater emotional security and resilience.
Whether you’re facing conflict, seeking to rebuild trust, or simply wanting to improve your relationship, I provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can gain insight, develop skills, and create meaningful change.
What I Enjoy Most About Therapy
As a therapist, I truly most enjoy witnessing growth and change—seeing clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop stronger, healthier relationships with themselves and others. The therapeutic relationship is especially meaningful to me because it provides a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, challenges, and goals without judgment. Being a therapist is incredibly fulfilling because I have the privilege of walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments, helping them navigate life’s complexities, and empowering them to create lasting, positive change.

Fun Fact
Outside of the office, I enjoy going on walks, reading, swimming, cooking, and baking. I also enjoy movies and music. Something on my bucket list would be to see the northern lights and learn how to surf!
