Hi, I’m Craig! I’m a Counselor in Training (CIT) at Marble Wellness.
My Education and Professional Background
Before becoming a therapist, I served more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a Federal Contracting Officer, overseeing complex projects in high-stakes environments. That experience sharpened my skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, risk management, and effective communication—all of which now enhance my clinical approach with clients.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University (degree conferral anticipated September 2025). I earned a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a business cognate from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University. I’ve successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and maintain an active membership with the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Currently, I serve as a therapist at Marble Wellness, where I support individuals and couples navigating challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions.
My passion is empowering veterans and their families to reclaim purpose, rebuild identity, and restore connection—especially after service.
How I Like to Work in Therapy
My approach is relational, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I believe therapy is most effective when it provides a safe space for vulnerability, genuine connection, and growth at your pace.
As a trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapist, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples deepen connection, rebuild trust, and communicate more effectively. I also incorporate strengths-based strategies and practical tools to guide veterans and individuals through their healing journey with clarity and purpose.
What I Enjoy Most About Therapy
Being a therapist is one of the greatest honors of my life. I love witnessing those breakthrough moments when clients feel seen, validated, and empowered to make real change.
The therapeutic relationship is sacred—it’s where healing begins, especially for those who’ve experienced disconnection, betrayal, or trauma. My goal is to help you find resilience, restore intimacy, and live with confidence.
Advanced or Relevant Training
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples
- Trauma-Informed Care for Veterans and Survivors of Sexual Trauma
- Attachment-Based Interventions for Individuals and Families
Fun Fact
I’m a retired Navy veteran, a proud husband of 23 years, and a father of three amazing adult children. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, walking, cigars, whiskey tasting, and meaningful conversations. I also enjoy traveling and practicing mindfulness through nature.
When I’m not in session, you might spot me kayaking on the Missouri River, cheering on a local sports team, or spending quality time with loved ones. Connecting with clients over shared real-world experiences keeps my work rooted and meaningful. On my bucket list is hiking in the Swiss Alps with my wife and writing a book on veteran resilience.
