Harue Juang, PLPC

Therapist in St. Louis, MO

Clinical Specialties:

Hi, I’m Harue! I’m a provisionally licensed therapist at Marble Wellness.

My Education and Professional Background

I completed my undergraduate degree in Visual Art with an Elementary Education Emphasis in Taipei, Taiwan. Later, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the School of Visual Arts in New York, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. I am currently a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) in Missouri.

During my internship at BJC Hospice’s Evelyn’s House, I supported children, teens, and families during and after the loss of a loved one. Art-making became a powerful way for my clients to process emotions that felt too big or complicated to put into words. Creative expression breaks down barriers—bridging age, language, and emotional distance—to bring comfort and clarity, especially in times of grief.

I also completed an internship at UMSL’s Counseling and Social Advocacy Center, where I developed skills in Child-Centered Play Therapy. Through this evidence-based approach, I help children process their emotions, build autonomy, and discover inner strength through play and creativity.

How I Like to Work with Children in Therapy

I specialize in therapy for children ages 5–12 in Ballwin, St. Louis, and across Missouri. My approach is centered on play therapy and art, inviting kids to explore and express their feelings in the way that feels most natural—whether through toys, drawing, or building creations together.

Why do I love working this way? As a sensitive child myself, I know how life-changing it can be to find an adult who listens without judgment, offering acceptance and understanding. My mission is to be that supportive presence for your child—a safe space to share about family, school, or simply about themselves.

For children and adults experiencing grief (after the loss of a loved one, life changes, or transitions like moving or divorce), I use creative activities—drawing, art, even crocheting—to help express and visualize difficult feelings, supporting the process of healing and rebuilding.

I’m also passionate about working multilingually—offering therapy in Mandarin or Japanese. For many clients, processing emotions in the language they’re most comfortable with makes therapy more accessible, clear, and deeply connected.

What I Enjoy Most About Child Therapy

I see myself as a supportive fellow traveler on your child’s or family’s journey. The best moments in therapy come when a client discovers new strengths, finds clarity, or shines in new ways. Whether through play, art, or heartfelt conversation, my job is to walk alongside your child, witness their “aha” moments, and celebrate their growth.

Advanced or Relevant Training

  • Child-Centered Play Therapy
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Fun Fact

When I’m not working, I love cooking and baking—especially discovering new food cultures and unique ingredients. You can often find me crocheting or making things by hand, exploring new crafts. I’m also always dreaming about travel: my bucket-list wish is to visit Iceland, see the Northern Lights, and cruise the Arctic.
