Katie Sabel, LMSW
Therapist in St. Louis, MO
Clinical Specialties:

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a provisionally licensed therapist at Marble Wellness.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and went on to earn my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Denver. I hold provisional LMSW licensure in Missouri and APSW in Wisconsin.
My professional journey started at a residential treatment center for youth in crisis, helping teens process trauma and grow in resilience. I’ve worked in intensive case management with kids and teens (ages 5–21), supporting families directly in their homes and communities. I completed social work internships in schools, and recently, spent over a year as a therapist in private practice.
Through these experiences, I’ve supported children and families through real-life struggles—including trauma, anxiety, and behavioral issues—and learned firsthand the importance of holistic, family-centered care.
How I Like to Work with Children in Therapy
I love working with children and teens in Ballwin, MO—watching their authenticity shine when given a safe therapeutic space. I help kids and teens manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges through evidence-based approaches.
Play therapy is often a cornerstone in my work and is especially effective for kids: we use games, art, sensory activities, or even outdoor sessions to help children communicate, process big emotions, and build self-confidence. For teens, I offer a supportive, creative approach that meets them where they are and helps them navigate life’s ups and downs.
Adults—especially parents—who didn’t have access to therapy as children are welcome, too. Together, we’ll explore the best ways to support your unique needs and family goals.
What I Enjoy Most About Child Therapy
It’s truly an honor to walk alongside children, teens, and families on their journey to healing and growth. Watching clients transform through hard work in therapy—and realizing they can lead happier, calmer lives—is deeply rewarding. I believe every person, child or adult, deserves a space to feel seen, heard, and celebrated for their authentic self. That’s the foundation of my approach.

Fun Fact
When I’m not in session, you’ll find me hiking local St. Louis trails, baking, or playing games with my family and friends. I’m an avid coffee fan—always trying out new creative blends at home! I love to travel and hope to see an elephant in the wild someday.
