Empowering High School Girls: The Transformative Power of Group Therapy

As the new year begins, many high school girls find themselves navigating a complex world of academic pressures, social challenges, and personal growth. At Marble Wellness, we understand the unique struggles faced by teenage girls and are excited to offer a powerful solution: our in-person High School Girls Therapy Group, led by the compassionate and skilled therapist Shayla Brosch, M.A., PLPC.

Why Group Therapy for High School Girls?

High school can be a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences. Our group therapy sessions provide a safe, supportive environment where girls can:

  • Improve communication skills
  • Connect with peers facing similar challenges
  • Gain new perspectives on common issues
  • Develop valuable coping skills
  • Boost self-confidence and self-esteem

The Marble Wellness Difference

Our High School Girls Therapy Group stands out for several reasons:

Expert Group Therapy Facilitation

Shayla brings specialized training in adolescent mental health, creating a nuanced and compassionate approach to group therapy. Her expertise allows her to skillfully navigate complex teenage emotional landscapes, ensuring each participant feels heard, validated, and supported. By understanding the unique challenges high school girls face, Shayla creates a therapeutic environment that promotes genuine growth and self-discovery.

Transformative Peer Support

Group therapy offers an unparalleled opportunity for connection and normalization. Participants discover they are not alone in their struggles, which can dramatically reduce feelings of isolation and shame. By hearing peers share similar experiences, girls learn that their challenges are common and manageable. This shared experience fosters a sense of community, empathy, and mutual understanding that individual therapy cannot replicate.

New Perspective Exploration

By bringing together girls from different schools and backgrounds, the group creates a rich tapestry of experiences. Participants gain insights into how challenges might look different across various social contexts, expanding their problem-solving toolkit. This diversity allows for broader learning, helping girls develop more flexible and adaptive coping strategies.

Comprehensive Skill Building

The group goes beyond traditional talk therapy, focusing on practical skill development. Participants learn concrete strategies for emotional regulation, communication, self-advocacy, and personal growth. These skills are carefully curated to support teenage girls in navigating academic, social, and personal challenges, setting a strong foundation for future success.

Real Experiences, Real Growth

During our Fall 2024 group, initial fears about speaking in front of the group and even just being intimidated by a group of girls they don’t know were quickly set aside! A lot of the girls shared that they were nervous in the beginning, but really enjoyed being here and hearing different perspectives from other group members. They realized that other girls were dealing with similar, if not the same things that they were dealing with. The girls also enjoyed hearing how things are at different schools and bouncing ideas off of each other for ways to cope, work through something, or find a quick solution that they hadn’t thought of before.

Benefits of Joining Our High School Girls Group

Our High School Girls Therapy Group meets weekly, providing consistent support and growth opportunities. This group is specifically designed for adolescent girls ages 14-18, offering a unique space to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences while learning valuable life skills.
